An Hermès Metallic bag is one of those things you just can’t find. They are simply so rare, they’re considered the next level of collectible. Back in the 1990’s Hermès experimented with metallic bags, creating a few unique examples for Leila Menchari’s famous flagship window displays in Paris. But these bags were too delicate to sell, created in Agneau Lambskin, but Hermès persisted. They continued experimenting with this technique, and in 2005 released an extremely limited number of Metallic Chevre leather bags in Gold, Silver and Bronze. This 18cm Constance is an exceptional piece from this collection, done in Silver Chevre leather with matching Palladium hardware. The intense metallic effect is created by applying layers and layers of metallic pigment to the leather, which can rub off with heavy use, though miraculously this bag shows no such wear and has been kept carefully over the past fifteen years. The gleaming exterior is contrasted with a black interior. Kept in Very Good condition, there are some press marks and visible signs of wear.
