Hermès Kelly Danse II Ombré Salvator Lizard with Palladium Hardware

The Kelly Danse was first designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier as a reinterpretation of the iconic Kelly bag that could be transformed into seven different bags. Hermès loves this idea of transformation, and multi-functionality; there is never a buckle or strap on their bags that doesn’t have a purpose. Here Hermès achieves this feat through genius simplicity: The classic body of the Kelly is made soft, and by adjusting the long single strap, it can be worn seven different ways: as a shoulder bag at two different lengths, crossbody, around the waist, as a backpack, a wristlet, or remove the strap entirely and carry it as a clutch. At first Hermès only produced this revolutionary design for a few seasons, quickly turning this unusual version of the Kelly into a rare collector’s piece. Just recently Hermès has re-released the design, and this store-fresh example is stunning Ombré in exotic and highly desirable Salvator Lizard with palladium hardware. We don’t know how long Hermès will produce these bags for their second run, though the numbers we’ve seen so far have been extremely limited. Pictured with an elegant  chain.
